These red carpet Emmy Award’s shots of January Jones and Claire Danes have got me lusting after a bottle of peroxide. Fresh- faced and dazzling, they demonstrate how to do classy, goldie-lock beauty to absolute perfection! Key to this look is the teaming of simple, minimal make-up with a gorgeous, soft blow-dry.

January Jones

Claire Danes
To compliment this look you need a good nude/rosy-pink lipstick, shimmering eyeshadow (prefs with gold tones), teamed with a flawless complexion. Here are my picks:
Bobbi Brown’s ‘Burnt Sugar’ Metallic Shadow offers high shimmer and accentuates the baby blues…

Bobbi Brown Metallic Eyeshadow in 'Burnt Sugar' rrp: $44
Next- up we have Benefit Full Finish Lipstick in ‘La La Land’; a beautiful pinky-beige hue with a silky-smooth texture, which glides over your pouting pretties! This is the type of shade that compliments any hair shade and one of my all-time favourite lip colours…

Benefit Full-Finish Lipstick in 'La La Land' rrp: $30
I have just discovered Divina Natural Finish Loose Mineral Foundation. I normally opt for liquid foundations so this is the first powder based foundation I’ve tried that i’m giving the thumbs-up! It delivers picture-perfect porcelain skin and also has a slight sparkle to it for added brightness.

Divina Natural Finish Loose Mineral Foundation rrp: $60

False eyelashes can conjure up images of drag queens, glamour models and sixties groupies. However, they are becoming more and more popular in the beauty world with the development of in-salon extensions and at- home kits, that provide natural and gorgeous lash enhancements. I recently trialled the Ardell DuraLash Naturals (rrp: $8.50) in black. They provide individual lashes which you can attach at home, will last up to four weeks and are super easy to apply. You can add as little drama to your look as you wish; I started with 3 individuals applied on the upper lash-line from the outside corner, which is what I would recommend to keep them looking subtle. I would advise adding some mascara to your natural eyelashes, so that they blend in better with the extensions; 3-4 lashes on each eye are probably all you need to get some impact!

Ardell DuraLash individuals rrp: $8.50 for a pack of 56
Ardell advise using their eyelash adhesive, LashTite, which comes out crystal clear, it is also designed to last for a couple of weeks so very durable. Individual falsies are the perfect way to enhance your eyes and offer a chic way of prettying-up your make-up look.

LashTite Adhesive rrp: $6.50

I love beauty products: FACT. But once in a while a product comes along that sends me glass-of-champagne-giddy. So, it is with great pleasure that I am introducing you to Girl Meets Pearl, from our friends at Benefit. We just met, yesterday, actually. Pearl doesn’t arrive in stores until 8th September but I thought i’d give you readers a little preview, so you can snap her up when she hits counters.

You can mix it in with your foundation to give your skin instant life; it seriously gives you the most exquisite glow. I have mentioned previously my mad love for foil nails by name of ‘Minx‘; I now have news of nail art along similar lines! Blixz nails follows the same concept of foil application and has recently just arrived on Australian shores. I am yet to try, so I can’t tell you whether it works as effectively as Minx. Fingers crossed I will get to review really soon!

POREfessional by Benefit, rrp: $53
Here we have another newbie from Benefit! POREfessional is a genius primer invention, specially designed to minimize the appearance of pores. It is slightly thicker than your average make-up primer, but still maintains that fabulous lightweight, silky texture. It works to diffuse the appearance of pores and fine lines to give you an ‘airbrush’ finish. Pat on to areas that require pore-fecting and voila: you have the perfect make-up canvas!
POREfessional, by Benefit, is in stores from 21st August.

A few weeks ago, I was one of the lucky ladies of Aussiemastralia, to attend the Maxted Thomas exclusive ‘Bloggers Event’. The fabulous PR team of MT had arranged a day of pampering for a number of us beauty bloggers at the Brad Ngata Salon, Surry Hills. The day was an exciting showcase of the company’s beauty brands where we were given the opportunity to try the products and speak to the fabulous brand peeps. I was delighted to spend a good little while speaking with Trilogy who took me through their fabulous product range and ‘educated’ me on their brand. I’ve heard many praises for their skin care and was quite delighted to finally get my hands on their star prod: Trilogy Rosehip Oil, which was a little angel in my loot bag. I have been carrying this gem around with me everywhere!

Certified Organic Rosehip Oil rrp: $20
So, why does one need this? For starters, it is 100 per cent pure organic goodness! It also comes with a little squeezy cap so you can pop droplets on to the skin conveniently when needed. Its properties include magical anti-ageing powers; it also assists skin renewal and repair, and is a clinically proven treatment for scars and damaged skin. Added to this, it has a really lovely formula: the super-fine oil absorbs instantly into skin and doesn’t feel at all greasy.

Specially Marked Cert. Organic Rosehip Oil rrp: $20
From September, there will be a Limited Edition Rosehip Oil hitting the shelves to support the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation, where $1 from every bottle sale will go towards this very worthy cause. So, please make sure you grab the specially marked boxes!
